BHP South Flank iron ore project in Australia hits milestone

US-based engineering firm Fluor has erected the first 1,500t of modules in the ore handling plant of BHP’s $3.6bn South Flank iron ore project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Fluor is providing engineering, procurement and construction management services for the project, which will feature a crushing and screening plant, an overland conveyor system, and rail-loading facilities.

GR Engineering and EcoGraf partner on graphite facility in Australia

GR Engineering Services and EcoGraf have signed a letter of intent (LoI) towards an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the development of a graphite facility in Western Australia.

The two companies expect to sign a formal contract for the new 20,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) battery graphite facility.

Alkane Resources unearths high-grade gold at Roswell

Alkane Resources has discovered a new intercept at their Roswell prospect. The  intercept has a 9.29 grams per tonne grading and was found after specialist tools were brought in to solve drilling delays.

Kinross starts drilling at Chulbatkan

Having completed the $283m acquisition of the Chulbatkan heap leach development project in Russia, Kinross Gold has begun a comprehensive drilling programme at the site.
