US mining industry IT recruitment activity rises 9.9% in December 2022

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.61% in December 2022 when compared with November 2022.

The US’s mining industry registered a 9.9% rise in IT hiring activity in December 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database. 

Out of the mining industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.73% share in December 2022, recording an increase of 0.11% over the last three-month average share. 

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 95.98% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s mining industry in December 2022. 

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 217.9% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s mining industry during December 2022 over November 2022. 

Freeport-McMoRan posted 44 IT jobs in December 2022 and registered a rise of 109.5% over the previous month, followed by RTI International Metals with 23 jobs and a flat growth. Aditya Birla Management, with eight IT jobs, and Charter Manufacturing, with seven jobs, recorded a 33.3% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Topcon recorded an increase of 600% with seven job postings during December 2022. 

Junior-level jobs held a share of 50.6%, up by 183.9% from November 2022. Mid-level positions with a 34.5% share, registered an increase of 160.9% compared with the previous month. 

In the third place was entry-level job ads with a 14.9% share, up 18.2% over November 2022.
