Reach previously inaccessible parts of your mine, monitor excavations, assess risks and improve productivity and safety, or design solutions with the Carlson C-ALS® Gyro

The unique 50 mm diameter of the C-ALS allows access to voids via the narrowest of boreholes. The system can be deployed down boreholes as long as 200 meters and the 360° spherical coverage provides a full view from a single scan, with no blind spots. In addition, the C-ALS laser scanner also enables you to:

  • Survey potentially dangerous areas from a position of safety
  • View the results against existing data and designs in real-time
  • Export to a variety of formats for processing in Carlson software or third party packages

C-ALS utilises a state of the art gyro and inclinometers which determine the orientation and position of the system, as it is deployed. This enables the user to easily georeference their point cloud to established on site control.

The C-ALS works great in:

  • sub-surface voids and cavities
  • undercrofts
  • underground chambers and tanks
  • duct surveys
  • inaccessible roof spaces
  • subsidence investigations
  • collapsed mine workings
  • culverts
  • shafts and bunkers
  • underground caverns
  • industrial production facilities where access is limited or unsafe

  • Use remote-control operation to survey potentially dangerous underground voids safely
  • View the results of your scan in minutes, not days
  • Utilize the free Carlson Scan software to view real-time data and export in your favored file format for additional work on projects

The C-ALS Gyro contains a 3-axis gyro that monitors the probe’s heading and accelerometers which determine the inclination. In this case, the rods are not required for aligning the probe making deployment fast and easy.
