Cobalt Blue to supply Glencore’s Kwinana refinery

Cobalt Blue Holdings has signed a contract to supply up to 50% of the feedstock requirements for Glencore International’s Kwinana Cobalt Refinery (KCR) in Western Australia The feedstock agreement, which spans three years, will commence with the start-up of KCR’s commercial operations. The contract stipulates a minimum supply of 3,750t of cobalt hydroxide over its term, with pricing linked to Fastmarkets’ indices. The feedstock will come from Glencore’s operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

IGO pulls out of copper mining JV with Encounter Resources

Encounter Resources has announced the full re-acquisition of the Yeneena copper-cobalt project in WA, following IGO’s exit from their JV agreement. The Yeneena project, spanning more than 1,450km², is situated 60km south-west of the Telfer copper-gold mine and south of the Nifty copper mine. During the six-year partnership, IGO invested approximately A$15m in exploration activities including drilling and geological surveys.

MLG bags first contract from Rio Tinto

MLG Oz has signed its inaugural contract with mining giant Rio Tinto for bulk haulage and site services at the Western Turner Syncline iron ore mine in the Pilbara region of WA. The contract is set for 12 months, with expected revenues of around $20m. The services provided under the contract include material loading, rock breaking, unloading, stockpile management and road maintenance.

Decmil secures A$80m civil infrastructure contracts

Decmil has secured two new contracts, collectively valued at approximately A$80m, bolstering the order book for its parent company, Macmahon. Under a A$70m contract, Decmil will deliver a new operations permanent village at the Eva copper mine in Queensland for scheduled completion in 2026. Arrow Energy has provided a second A$10m contract to Decmil to design and construct the Girrawheen satellite warehouse and operations facility in WA.
