Strength in tough environments

PumpEng’s flagship pumps— JetGuard®, Guardian®, Raptor®, MetalVest™, and ScatPump® —are designed specifically to excel in harsh mining conditions, built with high-quality metal components.

The JetGuard® is engineered to handle challenges of modern mining. The business end of the pump has been completely redesigned, featuring high-chrome suction surfaces and a double-sided impeller for long-term durability, while the relocated mechanical seal ensures reliability. It is available in 10kW (14Hp) and 20kW (30Hp) models, with voltages of 415V, 480V, 600V, and 1,000V (in both 50 and 60 Hz).

The Guardian® pump, an upgraded version of the Raptor® series, also features a duplex stainless steel wet end and a high-chrome impeller, like the JetGuard®. Its ability to handle tramp materials such as sharp gravel or aggressive drill fines makes it an excellent choice for miners seeking long-lasting, reliable equipment. The Guardian® is compatible for retrofitting with 8kW and 20kW Raptor® pumps or can be installed as brand new. It is also available for all market voltages, offering an efficient solution for the most demanding applications.

The Raptor® submersible dewatering pump, available in 5 kW, 8 kW, and 20 kW models, is known as the "old faithful” for its proven reliability in both underground and surface mining. The Raptor® is interchangeable with traditional OEM BIBO ranges, making it a versatile option across various setups.

Adding to this lineup is the MetalVest™ submersible high-head pump series. The MetalVest™ is available in 37kW and 75kW models, with options for 415V, 480V, 600V, and 1,000V, and can reach a maximum head of 83m. With all-metal construction, free from urethane or rubber-lined parts, the MetalVest™ offers significantly longer wear life, reducing repair costs and extending operational efficiency. It is ideal for underground and open-cut mining, pit dewatering, and other high-demand applications such as industrial and quarry dewatering.

The ScatPump® is highly regarded for its reliability in underground mining and process overflow reclamation. Its robust design ensures efficient dewatering while minimising energy consumption and maintenance risks. Available in models up to 22 kW, the ScatPump® delivers powerful performance with voltage options of 415V, 480V, 600V, or 1,000V, making it adaptable to various mining applications.

Metal is best

PumpEng firmly believes that Metal is Best when it comes to dewatering solutions. Unlike pumps with rubber or polyurethane components, which are prone to wear, tear, and failure, PumpEng’s all-metal pumps are designed to thrive in adverse conditions.

In uncontrolled dewatering environments such as mining, the metal components used in PumpEng’s pumps last significantly longer than rubber or polyurethane alternatives. For instance, the JetGuard®, Guardian®, and MetalVest™ pumps offer high resistance to wear, thanks to their duplex stainless steel or duplex white iron impellers and wear plates. This makes them ideal for environments with shotcrete poly fibres and abrasive particles.

Metal parts also resist chemical degradation, unlike rubber and polyurethane, which can break down when exposed to oils, solvents, and other harsh chemicals. Moreover, metal components prevent common issues like seizing or melting, which can occur when non-metallic pumps run dry for extended periods.

This all-metal approach ensures better performance, reduced wear, and a longer operational life between repairs. It also minimises the risk of damage from sharp particles and fibres, making PumpEng’s solutions more resilient and cost-effective.

Sustainability and long-term savings

PumpEng’s commitment to sustainable practices is evident in its product designs, which focus on reducing the environmental impact of mining operations. By enhancing water recovery and minimising the need for frequent pump replacements, it helps lower operational costs while contributing to the broader sustainability goals of the mining industry.

Their high-quality, durable pumps not only reduce the total cost of ownership but also provide long-term savings through lower energy consumption and fewer maintenance interventions.

PumpEng continues to push the boundaries of dewatering technology, delivering solutions built to withstand the toughest conditions. Their all-metal pumps—designed for maximum durability—provide mining operators with longer lifespans, greater resistance to harsh environments, and improved efficiency over time. Whether through flagship products like the JetGuard®, Guardian®, Raptor®, MetalVest™, and ScatPump® or their customer-centric "PumpEng Way," the company’s dedication to reliability, efficiency, and sustainability keeps them at the forefront of the mining sector, making them a valuable partner for your projects.
