COMPANY INSIGHT

We are the #1 Choice for Drill and Blast Equipment

2019 marked a year of huge growth for Ausroad, from ongoing contracts with its valued clients to working with universities to develop revolutionary blast technology, and commissioning new water trucks to Queensland mines.

With over 25 years’ experience in designing, manufacturing and distributing, Ausroad is a privately-owned Australian company delivering proven results for the mining sector. The Brisbane-based company is best known for its innovative stemming and drills support vehicles used all over the world by global mining giants.

Ausroad Stemming Trucks and Contour Loaders are proven to deliver stemming efficiently, safely and accurately. In a study conducted by Rio Tinto, results revealed two misfires were equivalent to the cost of one Ausroad Stemming truck, meaning the vehicle pays for itself with proven fewer misfires. Ausroad’s clients understand the value of safety and financial sustainability in mining projects, and the company is proud to continue to deliver this through its vehicles.

After years of research and development, Ausroad’s stemming delivery process has also been optimised to reduce double handling, backtracking and costly overtime. Ausroad Stemming Trucks can deliver 26 tonnes of stemming in just 15 minutes, with real-time communication between driver and engineers. Hydraulic controls, an air-conditioned cab and hopper that’s able to handle beyond the typical 30mm crushed aggregate are added benefits that make Ausroad stand out among competitors.

2019 saw the popularity of Ausroad’s Contour Loader also increase. The first of its kind in the world, this remote-control, smaller tracked vehicle can deliver stemming where larger vehicles can’t. With a capacity of 1.5t, the contour loader can scale inclines up to 20 degrees while delivering stemming with the same safety, accuracy and efficiency as an Ausroad Stemming Truck.

For added safety on the shot, Ausroad also manufactures a range of support vehicles, like water trucks that keep the shot wet, limiting harmful dust circulation and ensuring OHS compliance. In October we commissioned two additional water trucks to Queensland mines, where they will be used extensively to keep mining conditions optimal and workers safe. With 24/7 support, regional maintenance and driver training, Ausroad is committed to ensuring these new water trucks are reliable, efficient and safe for extensive work on the shot.

Ausroad’s Drill Support Vehicles also offer an all-in-one solution for mining operations, with diesel and water wet down equipment. These trucks are the number one choice

for open cut drilling operations, with a 20,000 litre capacity divided between fuel and water to suit customer requirements. Like all Ausroad trucks, these Drills Support Vehicles are built for maximum safety and productivity by making stemming operations more efficient.

2019 also saw Ausroad’s commitment to innovation continue. Working with researchers from the University of Queensland, Ausroad has been developing specialist blast technology which will help improve the efficiency of the Drill and Blast cycle. This continues Ausroad’s support and inviolvement in education and innovation across mining, engineering and sustainable/efficient practice.

The Ausroad team is looking forward to providing consistent, reliable results for open cut drilling operations. Through innovation, quality manufacturing and 24/7 support, Ausroad is enthusiastic about continuing to deliver safety, accuracy and efficiency to our valued clients into 2020.

AusProof is celebrating 25 years of business in Australia in 2019.
