Ramelius completes A$2.4bn acquisition of Spartan Resources
Australian gold mining company Ramelius Resources has completed its acquisition of smaller peer Spartan Resources for approximately A$2.4bn. As part of the agreement, shareholders of Spartan received 0.6957 shares of Ramelius and A$0.25 in cash for each Spartan share held. Ramelius, which secured ownership of Spartan’s Dalgaranga gold project in WA as part of the deal, has a vision to become a 500,000oz gold producer within five years.
Livium and MinRes establish joint venture for LieNA tech
Australia-based Livium and mining company Mineral Resources (MinRes) have launched a 50:50 joint venture to commercialise LieNA lithium processing technology. The news follows completion of Stage 1A of the joint development programme, agreed in August 2023. The next step involves construction of a demonstration plant, but given “that current market conditions do not support the economic construction and funding of the plant”, the parties have extended the deadline for the pilot.
WIN Metals to buy Radio gold mine
WIN Metals has signed a binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) to acquire the Radio gold mine in the Yilgarn region of WA from Top Global Mining. The acquisition encompasses a suite of tenements, mining and processing assets, accommodation facilities, vehicles and other equipment. The transaction terms include an upfront payment of A$500,000 and a share consideration of A$400,000, with a deferred stepped royalty on gold sales.
Medallion signs binding deal for IGO’s Forrestania assets
Medallion Metals has entered a conditional binding asset sale agreement to acquire 100% of IGO’s Forrestania Nickel Operation in Western Australia. Medallion will acquire all the assets including the Cosmic Boy plant and equipment, infrastructure, inventories and information, including mineral rights other than Reserved Rights from IGO. In exchange, Medallion will grant a 1.5% royalty to IGO on future gold production from the tenements.
