Deal activity by volume related to cybersecurity increased by 50% year-on-year in 2022 in the mining industry

Analysis of the key themes driving deal activity reveals that cybersecurity accounted for 29 pharmaceutical deals between 2018 and 2022, worth a total value of $1,837m, according to GlobalData’s Deals database covering mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture financing, equity offerings and partnerships. The $1,811m licensing agreement between Lantheus and POINT Biopharma was the largest disclosed deal in 2022, while the $2.2m venture financing raised by Humankind Ventures was the largest disclosed deal in 2021.  

In volume terms, cybersecurity related deal activity increased by 100% year-on-year in 2022 and remained flat year-on-year in 2021.

Analysis of the key themes driving deal activity reveals that cybersecurity accounted for 22 mining deals between 2018 and 2022, worth a total value of $7,359m, according to GlobalData’s Deals database covering mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture financing, equity offerings and partnerships. The $1,200m acquisition of EtQ by Hexagon was the largest disclosed deal in 2022, while the $5m acquisition of Casa Mining by Golden Mining was the largest disclosed deal in 2021.  

In volume terms, cybersecurity related deal activity increased by 50% year-on-year in 2022 and decreased by 50% year-on-year in 2021.
