West Musgrave Project

Mine life: 26 years

The West Musgrave copper and nickel sulphide mine is expected to commence production in 2026. The project was initially developed by a joint venture between OZ Minerals and Cassini Resources. Following a series of acquisitions, BHP gained complete ownership of the project.

Robe Mesa Project

Location: Western Australia
Reserves: 33.4 million tonnes
Mine life: 8 years

The Robe Mesa iron ore project, located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia will commence production in the second quarter of 2025. Australia-based CRZ Resources is developing the project with an estimated capital expenditure of A$128m ($81.6m). 

Bellevue Gold Project

Location: Western Australia 
Reserves: 6.8t
Mine life: 8.1 years

Bellevue Gold is developing the gold project in the Sir Samuel region of Western Australia through its subsidiary Golden Spur Resources. Underground stoping at the mine commenced in August 2023 and first gold production is expected by the end of 2023.
