In this issue, we look at what’s in store for Australian gold production. National production levels have declined for five consecutive years even as gold prices reached record highs, but upcoming projects suggest a rebound may be near.

Beyond gold, Australia is looking outward, targeting Indonesia’s nickel and Brazil’s critical minerals as COP30 opens new doors for international collaboration. We speak with the Geological Survey of Queensland, a scientific arm of the Queensland Government, on how seismic technologies can uncover untapped critical minerals reserves.
