With an ever-increasing focus on the sustainability and environmental impact of the mining industry, we look at how Australian companies are embracing natural capital accounting. We speak to miners that have adopted NCA at their sites and look at latest resources that can help industry.   

We also dig into Australia’s initiatives to reuse and recycle end-of-life mining tyres. With more than 180,000t of tyres generated by the Australian industry each year, manufacturers are aiming to include more recycled materials in their products and boost recycling, while pilot projects are assessing the reuse of tyres on the country’s highways.  

In geopolitics, we explore the role of China in Australia’s iron, coal and lithium exports, looking at what’s next for China-Australia mining trade.
