In the demanding landscape of the Australian mining industry, safety, reliability, and efficiency are paramount. As operations grapple with extreme weather conditions and complex machinery, the need for robust control systems has never been greater. Tele Radio stands at the forefront of this sector, offering a comprehensive range of remote control solutions tailored to meet the unique challenges faced by miners across the nation.

Comprehensive solutions for tough environments

Tele Radio is dedicated to providing high-quality products specifically designed for the harsh realities of the mining environment. Our extensive product range includes the Panther, Tiger, and TEQ waist radio remote controls, each engineered to endure the demanding conditions typical of mining operations. These systems not only enhance safety but also significantly improve operational efficiency, making them indispensable in today’s mining landscape.

A standout feature of Tele Radio's products is their ability to operate reliably in the challenging Australian environment. Designed to withstand dust, moisture, and temperature variations, these systems ensure dependable performance in rugged mining settings. This resilience not only extends the lifespan of the equipment but also reduces downtime, allowing mining operations to run smoothly and efficiently.

1. TEQ waist transmitters: Versatility in design

The TEQ waist transmitters from Tele Radio are designed to provide versatility across a wide array of applications. With over 65 years of experience in the field of wireless industrial control units, we ensure our transmitters are tailored to meet the exact needs of end-users and specific applications.

These waist transmitters can be worn using a neck, shoulder, or hip belt, facilitating two-handed operation for improved comfort and efficiency. Available in three different sizes, the TEQ transmitters can be customised with a variety of controls including push buttons, switches, and joysticks, as well as feedback displays. Operators can choose between compact designs for basic applications or larger models featuring up to a 4.3-inch display for real-time machine feedback.

For clients with standard application needs, we recommend our PrimaTEQ, VersaTEQ, or SupraTEQ Basic Line versions. These transmitters come with a fixed set of controls, are highly adjustable, and include independently certified stop buttons. For more tailored requirements, our specialists can collaborate with clients to create custom solutions that perfectly fit their operational needs.

2. Tiger radio control system: Safety and reliability

The Tiger radio control system is another standout offering from Tele Radio, distinguished by its SIL3 and PLe certification. This robust system is suitable for both standard and complex lifting and non-lifting applications in harsh environments, making it a vital tool for mining operations. Tiger employs frequency-hopping technology, changing frequencies every 40 milliseconds to ensure uninterrupted communication and reliability.

Available in various configurations, Tiger receivers support standard relay and analogue inputs/outputs, alongside communication via different fieldbus systems. The inclusion of both a STOP function and two designated relays that meet the highest safety standards underscores our commitment to safety in the mining sector.

Tiger’s pushbutton transmitters are built to last. Users can select from handheld units equipped with or without screens, depending on their requirements. The system boasts an adjustable range of up to 1000 meters and can control multiple receivers, providing flexibility and power for complex mining applications. With protection ratings of at least IP65, Tiger systems are designed to withstand moisture and dust, ensuring long-lasting performance in the field.

3. Panther system: Customisation and flexibility

The Panther series is celebrated for its customisation options and user-friendly design. Operating at 2.4 GHz, Panther systems can manage hundreds of configurations without interference, allowing for seamless operation in busy environments. Built-in fail-safe features add an additional layer of security, automatically shutting down the system if the system fails or lose communication.

The Panther PLd system is particularly versatile, able to adapt to a variety of overhead cranes, tow trucks or any other applications. One transmitter can independently control multiple machines and allowing multiple operators to work collaboratively on different equipment’s without interference. With four billion possible code combinations, Panther offers unrivalled flexibility, making it our most adaptable system yet.

Customisation extends beyond just functionality. Operators can program which relay or relays to activate when a button is pressed, allowing for a tailored operational experience.

Transmitter buttons can trigger a series of actions, activating multiple relays in a specified sequence or use a time sequence.

This level of customisation ensures that each solution meets the unique demands of the mining application.

Some receivers also have digital inputs for sensors for interlock of function.

Tailored solutions for various mining applications

Tele Radio's remote control solutions are not limited to drill rigs; they are applicable across a broad range of mining equipment, including water trucks and other mobile machinery.

Water trucks: In mining operations, water trucks play a crucial role in dust suppression and groundwater management. Tele Radio’s remote control systems significantly enhance the functionality of these vehicles, allowing operators to manage water flow and operations safely from a distance. This capability is vital for maintaining optimal working conditions and preventing flooding, which can disrupt operations.

Mobile applications: Tele Radio’s remote controls are also adaptable for other mobile applications within the mining sector. By integrating advanced remote control technology, mining companies can improve the efficiency and safety of their mobile equipment, making operations more streamlined and effective.

Robustness and safety in harsh conditions

One of the standout features of Tele Radio's products is their ability to operate reliably in the harsh Australian environment. The systems are designed to withstand dust, moisture, and temperature variations, ensuring dependable performance in rugged mining settings. This resilience not only extends the lifespan of the equipment but also reduces downtime, allowing mining operations to run smoothly and efficiently.
