Mentions of robotics increased by a CAGR of 51% in the mining industry since 2020

The global mining industry experienced a 51% rise in compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in company filings mentions of robotics since 2020. Key companies in terms of mentions include ABB, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, and Vesuvius, according to GlobalData’s analysis of over 1,000 mining company filings.
Notably, since 2020, robotics was the most referenced technology theme in terms of mentions, followed by artificial intelligence and internet of things, according to GlobalData's Company Filings database. Mentions related to robotics increased by 34% year-on-year in 2021 and by 18% year-on-year in 2022.
Top five companies by mentions of robotics in the global mining industry since 2020
Of the 50 leading companies in the mining industry, Emmerson Resources had the highest year-on-year increase in references to robotics in 2022. GlobalData identified 26 robotics related sentences in the company's filings in 2022, 2% of all sentences. Meanwhile, United Company RUSAL had the highest year-on-year increase in references for robotics in 2021. GlobalData identified 11 robotics related sentences in the company's filings in 2021, 1% of all sentences.
