Disc Filters

Peterson builds a complete line of disc filters ranging from laboratory size units of 1′-6″ in diameter up to full size production units 12′-6″ in diameter with 15 discs.

Peterson “Coal Type” disc filter designs are used on fine clean coal and coal refuse slurries and have become an industry standard in the United States.

We provide a similar line of equipment designed specifically for filtering concentrates and tailing slurries found in metallurgical mining applications.

Pocket

                Disc Filters

Peterson has a “Pocket” size vacuum disc filter for dewatering fines in a variety of process streams.  The filters have a disc diameter of 4′-6″ and a disc area of 25 ft2.  The small disc diameter provides an economical dewatering solution for a variety of smaller slurry flows since the filters can be configured with 1 disc for 25 ft2 up to 20 discs for 500 ft2.

With a narrow footprint, the new machines are readily adaptable to platform mounting with various vacuum pumps and other accessories and are a perfect fit for portable and temporary operations such as small pond reclamation projects in the coal industry. The 1 or 2 disc versions are ideally suited for pilot plant operations.

Drum Filters

Peterson has a complete line of drum type filters which can be customized for specific applications in mining, sewage and food processing operations. Depending on the application, special units involving a belt type filter media are also available.

Our pre-coat type drum filters are specifically designed for coating the drum with filter aids, usually of diatomaceous earth, which are then shaved off in very thin layers during a batch run of pre-filter slurry. This results in a clean filtering surface being presented to the pre-filter feed on each revolution of the drum. These units are generally used in clarifying operations where very clean filtrate is the desired product.

BOOTH

              Pressure Filters

BOOTH Pressure Filters

Peterson is the exclusive manufacturer of the “BOOTH” Pressure Sample Filter. This compact laboratory type unit is designed for analyzing filter cake and filtrate from small batch filter samples and provides superior safety, speed, and convenience.

The barrel is moved vertically and horizontally with one hand by means of a simple lever and cam arrangement. The upper seal is attached to the yoke and is tightly sealed to the barrel by rotating the hand wheel while the lower seal remains stationary. All parts line up automatically.
