Fortescue to buy remaining 64% of Alta Copper
Fortescue has announced a binding agreement to purchase the remaining 64% of Alta Copper’s issued and outstanding common shares not already owned by the operator, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Nascent Exploration. The offer reflects a 50% premium to Alta Copper’s 30-day volume-weighted average price and values the company’s equity at C$139m ($100.92m). The deal expects to be completed by March 2026.
Westgold to sell Mt Henry-Selene gold project to Alicanto
Westgold Resources has signed a binding asset sale agreement to sell the Mt Henry-Selene gold project in Western Australia (WA) to Alicanto Minerals for a total of A$64.6m. Under the deal, Westgold will receive A$15m in cash and approximately 357.1 million Alicanto shares valued at A$19.6m upon completion of the transaction. An additional deferred payment of A$30m, payable in cash or shares, is contingent upon the achievement of agreed performance milestones.
Lindian acquires 100% of Kangankunde rare earths project
Lindian Resources has paid the final $10m (A$15.05m) tranche under a share sale agreement to acquire Rift Valley Resource Developments (RVRD), owner of the Kangankunde rare earths project in Malawi, one of the world’s largest and highest-grade rare earth deposits in development. With this transaction, Lindian’s stake in RVRD has risen from 67% to 100%, gaining complete legal and beneficial ownership of the project.
Magnum to acquire Wet Mountains rare earth project in US
Magnum Mining and Exploration has signed a binding term sheet to acquire Wyoming Critical Minerals, the sole owner of the Wet Mountains rare earth element project in Colorado, US. The project has recorded total rare earth elements (TREE) reaching up to 7.99%, or 79,900 parts per million (ppm), from the exposed carbonatite dykes, and a substantial anomalous zone grading between 2% and 4% TREE (20,000–40,000ppm).
