The new Adelaide facility: A beacon of support
SEW-EURODRIVE has expanded its robust network of Heavy Industrial Solution (HIS) Service centres strategically located across Australia in Melbourne, Mackay, Newcastle and now Adelaide. The recent relocation and upgrade of the Adelaide facility marks a significant milestone in expanding service capabilities for the Australian mining sector.
To meet the modern day needs of heavy industry operations; these facilities are equipped with advanced load testing capabilities. The use of a load tester is becoming the new standard for the service and repair of large industrial gearboxes in Australia. This is particularly beneficial for critical mining equipment such as Ball/Rod Mills, HPGRs, pumps, and conveyor drives.
The main benefit of the load tester is its ability to simulate the function of the unit when in use which allows identification of any points of failure. This minimises the risk of costly downtime due to faults discovered after commissioning. It is also possible to simulate the intended mounting arrangement of the worksite, further strengthening overall quality control. Having a test facility that can replicate real-life service conditions tailored to exact project requirements provides a valuable advantage.
The Mackay and Newcastle centres are outfitted with 500kW load testers, while the newly commissioned Adelaide facility houses a 1MW load tester, one of the largest in Australia. This facility is strategically located to support mining operations and related industries in the region, ensuring that SEW-EURODRIVE can deliver timely service and solutions.
