Welcome to the latest issue of MINE Australia.

Decarbonisation, transport, and the bridge between them lead the way in this edition of Mine Australia. As the Albanese government pushes ahead with decarbonising Australia, we look at what this means for the coal industry. And although electric mine vehicles would improve emissions and safety, what sort of site upgrades will this facet of decarbonisation require?  

As well as this, we revisit the embarassing loss of a small radioactive capsule in a vast expanse of countryside, and take a look at the rules around the transport of radioactive goods. 

Finally, while even the most dedicated miner might politely refuse the opportunity to live in their mine, we look at the town made of mines, the opal capital of the world.
