Australia is one of the top three countries in the world for cobalt reserves, after the Democratic Republic of Congo and ahead of Indonesia. However, Australian miners face much higher costs and levels of regulation than their counterparts elsewhere. We ask whether Australia can overcome these barriers to position itself as an ESG-compliant cobalt producer.

We also focus on how tech is transforming pump innovation in the mining sector and how Australian miners are using satellites to maintain miner safety.
