Serving the industry through high quality design and product development
AusProof is a family-owned and operated original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of aluminium and stainless steel cable coupler solutions, offered in a variety of high and low voltage ratings, in order to assist your site meet its operational needs. Above or below ground, domestic or international, AusProof is passionate about providing the industry with safe and innovative products of the highest possible quality.
Our commitment and dedication to this passion is part of our core values, and is reflected in our logo. More than simply three circles, they symbolise a set of proof coins, the highest quality coins a person can acquire. Our logo represents an ideal, a concept, that AusProof strives to meet and surpass, always looking for opportunities to reinvent, redevelop, and design new products to provide safe, reliable and durable cable coupler solutions.

50 years of professional and operational experience
Based in Gladstone, Queensland, AusProof was established in 1994 by Philip and Wendy Marks, with Founding Director Philip Marks bringing to Australia a wealth of knowledge and experience gained over 20 years of study, research, and development. Over the past 30 years, AusProof has worked tirelessly in order to provide safe and innovative products that meet the needs of the industry. Some of the standard features of AusProof couplers include:
- Full phase to phase segregation by earth
- Insulation that extinguishes arcs and faults
- Elimination of partial discharge and corona
- Ergonomic shapes and designs for ease of handling
An ever-expanding lineup
The hard work and persistence of many of AusProof’s dedicated team over the past 30 years has seen AusProof’s range of products, accessories and features expand and grow from its humble beginnings to include:
- 660V – 3.3kV Non-Ex aluminium plugs and receptacles;
- 6.6kV – 35kV Non-Ex aluminium high voltage couplers (with fibre optic models of this couplers also available and popularly used overseas);
- 660V – 3.3kV Ex-certified stainless steel plugs and receptacles; and
- 11kV Ex-certified stainless steel high voltage couplers.
The CAT Skid, Coupling Tool, Slide Hammer and LED Live Line Indicator are just a couple of high voltage accessories available, with features developed for high voltage couplers including all air expelled on joining and adjustable glands, and low voltage features including single piece contacts to prevent hot joints and easy termination. All Ex-certified products have also been developed to allow for replaceable flamepaths.

Exploring the unknown to advance cable coupler technology
AusProof is always searching for the next step it can take, the next problem it can solve, in order to assist the industry with challenges it may be facing in areas such as power supply, operational efficiency, and equipment maintenance. With innovation a core value of AusProof, each year funding is allocated to AusProof’s Research and Development team, enabling them to stretch the limits and explore beyond the industry norms of electrical conductivity and cable coupler solutions. Dedication to this goal has seen many innovative achievements over recent years, with the release of the world’s first and only 35kV coupler in 2013 upon client request, the release of the Ex118BSSRF in 2015 in order to take the guesswork out of flamepath maintenance, as well as reduce associated times and costs, and the release of the LED Live Line Indicator in 2020 after two years of redesign and redevelopment, to name a few.
Further marking AusProof’s pursuit of innovation and quality, in 2023 AusProof became the first cable coupler OEM in Australia to to invest in its own in-house high-voltage testing laboratory, learning not just how high voltage works, but understanding why. Assisting in this new journey to better understand the ‘why’ of high voltage conductivity, AusProof has also welcomed to the team an esteemed professor of high voltage insulation systems with several decades of study, knowledge and experience.
Making connections
AusProof believes in the power of connections. Through engaging with customers, keeping in touch and being an ear for concerns and queries, AusProof has built a diverse range of industry connections. With representatives travelling to sites all across Australia, as well as attending trade shows and events, AusProof looks for every chance to meet with industry members, to discuss their needs, and how AusProof can help a site achieve its goals.
Hopefully the industry feels honoured that our little company is just in their backyard, we're proud of it and hopefully they can be proud of it too.
Managing Director Aston Marks
Valuing the voices of international industry members just as much as domestic ones, AusProof works hand-in-hand with its international sister companies in order to provide greater support, product accessibility, and supply chain stability, with products supplied to Africa, USA, South America, the UK, and parts of Asia and New Zealand.
