The Diacon Conveyor Improvement System consists of:

DIACON® Conveyor Guard

The DIACON Conveyor Guard is a plastic mesh, conveyor guarding system which improves safety in the materials handling industry. Complementing the DIACON Hungry Board, this corrosion free and lightweight guard requires no painting, is easily installed and allows for quick guard removal during maintenance operations.

DIACON® Hungry Board

The DIACON Hungry Board is an aluminium-reinforced, high-grade plastic panel that is used on conveyor belts to contain product, reduce spillage loss and increase conveyor capacity for short periods. Greenfield sites to existing plant upgrades, it is your effective low cost, corrosion free, lightweight and easy to install alternative.

DIACON® Safety Panel

A plastic mesh panel guard that is corrosion-free, lightweight, requires no painting, is speedily installed and removed.

A safety focus

DIACON guards are specifically engineered to meet 100% of the requirements of AS/NZS 4024.1:2014 and AS/NZS 4024.3611:2015 for Safeguarding of Machinery and AS/NZS 4024.3610:2015 for Conveyor Guarding. In this regard, they focus primarily on the following:

  • Suitability of material for purpose,
  • Aperture size considerations relative to reach distances,
  • Deflection criteria when the guard is under load,
  • Correct signage, and
  • The ability of the guard to be unlocked for removal only through the use of a tool.

The DIACON guarding system is designed using FEA and has been tested in-house to ensure that required deflection criteria are met when loads of 450N applied at a right angle and 900N vertical and 220N horizontal applied simultaneously to the guard as required by section 2.13.4.4 Guarding Strength AS/NZS4024.3610-2015.
