Safe and reliable coupler solutions for the industry'

Since 1978, AusProof’s innovative and creative DNA has led the company to be world leaders in coupler research, development and manufacturing. Through redesigning existing ideas, testing beyond what is required for best results and thinking outside the box, AusProof couplers are not only safe for open-cut mining, but for those working underground in hazardous environments and tunnelling projects.

A

usProof are original equipment manufacturers (OEM) of electrical cable couplers and components used in underground and open-cut coal and metalliferous mines, and also in tunnel excavation projects.  Today, the Queensland-based company is widely recognised for high voltage coupler and adaptor systems that demonstrate state of the art technology, with innovative designs and features. In the last two years, AusProof has continued to either launch new products or enhance existing features for the industry. This includes a new LED live line indicator, re-developed CAT skid for coupler protection and an aluminium low voltage restrained range.

40 years of experience

Holding a strong reputation of innovation, reliability and pedigree, AusProof have been leaders in coupler research, development and design for forty years and have celebrated over 25 years of business in Australia. For the past 40 years, AusProof has worked tirelessly to provide mining companies with safe, reliable high and low voltage systems. Our coupler system is one the safest and most reliable in the world that features:

  • Phases segregated by earth
  • Insulation that extinguishes arcs and faults
  • Partial discharge and corona are eliminated
  • IP68 water and dust rating
  • The shape of coupler allows for ease of handling

Creator of first’s

AusProof continues to design and manufacture a number of first’s in the world, by stretching the limits of current understanding and knowledge of high voltage. As a result, AusProof developed and manufactured the first 33kV coupler in the world; re-designed the 11kV flameproof coupler with a removable flange feature; design and developed a 22,000 volt coupler with full phase to earth segregation that has been in service since 1990; and AusProof’s Ex118BSS has had continuous improvements, making it the only product in the flameproof range where the gland can be tensioned at any time without removing any components. In 2019, AusProof launched the PES 60A plug and receptacle, with a rating of 90A, the first of it’s kind in Australia.

Research and Development Department

Since 1978, AusProof has been observing issues, redesigning old ideas, testing beyond what is required to get the best results, thinking outside the box and producing a product that is not only safe for open-cut mining, but also for those working underground in hazardous environments. With an established and dedicated onsite research and development department, a certain percentage of turnover is injected into the department each year to ensure new ideas, technology and new products are constantly refreshed and enhanced. Additionally, AusProof continually updates existing designs with in-house testing and improvements. Through R&D, these unique features are a direct result of ongoing work and testing:

  • Phase segregation

  • Air removal

  • Insulating materials that extinguishes arcs
  • Flameproof paths that are replaceable
  • One piece contacts
  • Reduction of parts
  • Ease of termination on cables
  • Adjustable glands
  • Training packages
  • Simplified cold shrink stress relief tubes

Unique AusProof Advantages

Listening to customer’s has enabled AusProof to continuously improve couplers and design new products that benefit every mining or tunnel operation. It is this attitude that inspired the company to design and manufacture a revolutionary range of couplers with unmatched safety and reliability. The AusProof coupler system is proudly one of the safest and most reliable coupler in the world with features:

  • Phases segregated by earth
  • Insulation that extinguishes arcs and faults
  • Elimination of partial discharge and corona
  • IP68 water and dust rating
  • The shape of the coupler allows for ease of handling
  • Face profile and silicon rubber connectors expel all air when connected
  • Stainless steel or aluminium
  • Restrained plugs with single piece contacts and body

International Presence

AusProof has built a diverse range of mining industry clients, trading both in Australia and internationally.

AusProof’s coupler system is designed in Australia, with all components manufactured in Gladstone, Queensland. Couplers are supplied internationally to Africa, USA, South America, UK and also in parts of Asia and New Zealand.
