Choosing the right PumpEng solution:

JetGuard®, Guardian®, Raptor®, and the new CanaryPump.

In underground mining, efficient dewatering is critical to maintaining operational flow and safety. PumpEng, a leading Australian manufacturer, provides a range of high-performance pumps designed to address the unique challenges of mine dewatering. With flagship models such as JetGuard®, Guardian®, Raptor®, and the newly launched CanaryPump, PumpEng offers tailored solutions that enhance safety and productivity, minimize risks, and reduce costs.

Here’s a closer look at each pump and the specific challenges they address in mining operations.

JetGuard®: Combatting modern mine challenges

The JetGuard® is a heavy-duty submersible pump specifically designed to tackle the tough conditions of underground mining, particularly environments with tramp and drill fines. Designed with shotcrete fibers in mind, key features such as the counter-level seal arrangement and toughened metal on all wear parts, providing significant improvements in overall reliability and resistance to wear, especially when dealing with floating fibres in the wastewater. Shotcrete poly fibre, commonly used to reinforce tunnel walls, can clog traditional pumps, leading to breakdowns and operational delays. The JetGuard® solves this problem with its innovative design, including a hydraulic curtain that sprays water to keep fibers out and an internal cutter plate that chops any fibers that do enter the pump.

JetGuard® is ideal for miners dealing with aggressive environments where Shotcrete fibers pose a significant challenge. It is available in 10 kW (14 Hp) and 20 kW (27 Hp) models, making it suitable for a range of underground dewatering applications.

Guardian®: Reliable performance in harsh conditions

The Guardian® pump range is a robust solution for mining operations that need to handle tramp materials and solids. Like the JetGuard®, the Guardian® features toughened metal components instead of elastomer, providing durability and resilience in challenging conditions. It is designed for longer life, better performance, and reduced maintenance frequency, making it an excellent choice for mines that cannot afford downtime.

The Guardian® is particularly suitable for mines with high tramp material content in their water. It can run dry and is tolerant of running on the snore, further enhancing its reliability in demanding conditions.

Raptor®: The versatile workhorse

The Raptor® pump is PumpEng’s reliable and versatile solution for underground and surface mining, as well as general dewatering tasks. Known as the ‘old warrior,’ the Raptor® has proven its worth over time, delivering consistent performance even in the most arduous conditions. Its parts are interchangeable with traditional OEM BIBO ranges, providing additional flexibility and ease of maintenance.

Available in 5 kW (7 Hp), 8 kW (11 Hp), and 20 kW (27 Hp) models, the Raptor® is an ideal choice for a wide range of applications, from construction to general dewatering in mining.

CanaryPump: Lightweight innovation for quick deployment

The CanaryPump is PumpEng’s latest innovation, designed for easy, portable dewatering in underground settings. Weighing less than 25 kg, it is light enough for a single person to handle, making it perfect for quick deployments in tight spaces and problem areas where traditional pumps are too cumbersome.

The CanaryPump is a game-changer for miners who need a reliable, quick-to-deploy pump solution.
