Welcome to the latest issue of MINE Australia.

In this issue, we look at the inner workings of the Australian mining industry, and ask whether the legal and logistical processes that underpin this crucial sector are delivering fair outcomes for all.

On a local level, allegations of miners delaying environmental offsets in New South Wales have undermined the legitimacy of offsetting as an effective means of combatting climate change, while on a national level, miners have been steadily adopting renewable power, electric vehicles and carbon capture technologies.

We also look at the impacts of mining on the Australian environment, from the sky to the sea, and ask whether the dramatic ecological impacts of mining pose too great a threat to be considered safe.

Finally, with the mining a backbone of both national mining and the Australian economy more broadly, we ask how companies and governments can incorporate these mines and their profits into the national economy.

For all this and more, read on.
