GEOHEX™, your sustainable alternative to concrete

With increased accountability of the industry to operate sustainability and economically, the impetus to source environmentally friendly alternatives is more prevalent than ever. Luckily for Australian mine sites, Aussie engineering has risen to the test. GEOHEX™ is a 100% recycled, high impact co-polymer polypropylene paver that provides heavy duty strength without the weight, price tag or environmental impact of concrete.

Here’s 3 top reasons to switch to GEOHEX™ over concrete and reduce the embodied carbon of materials used by your mine site:

1. GEOHEX™ has a lower carbon intensity than traditional concrete pathways, roads, exclusion zones or safe zones

As a recycled polypropylene, GEOHEX™ creates less carbon emissions than concrete in its manufacturing process.

2. GEOHEX™ is lighter and faster to transport than concrete and has lower transport related carbon emissions

As a lightweight, but strong plastic paver, GEOHEX™ nests neatly onto pallets and is significantly cheaper to freight to site than concrete.

3. GEOHEX™ is made from 100% recycled polypropylene

Manufactured from 100% recycled, non-reactive plastic, the environmental impact of GEOHEX™ in production and application is lower than concrete, without compromising strength or durability.

Engineered to prevent soil erosion and promote ground stabilisation, GEOHEX™ creates a permeable and safe surface for earthmoving machinery, maintenance vehicles and foot traffic and is capable of withstanding up to 1,200 tonnes per square metre when filled.

The hexagonal honeycomb voids in GEOHEX™ promote drainage and prevent bogging, rutting and aggregate run off whilst ticking the boxes of your onsite sustainability and safety policies.
